Strawberry and Banana Smoothie

A smoothie is a quick fix for brunch and could also be a nutritious drink at any time of the day. It is an ideal way to get your daily servings of fruit into your diet.

I paired these two fruits together because they're my favorites however it could be substituted with any fruits of your liking.

There are many health benefits of fruits, some are listed below :

  • Fruit may reduce risk for stroke, other cardiovascular diseases and type-2 diabetes.
  • Eating an overall healthy diet, may protect against certain cancers.
  • Fruit helps maintain optimum health due to the health promoting phytochemicals it contains.
  • Fruits contain many nutrients like potassium,vitamin C, folic acid and fiber, to name a few.  

Not all the time fresh fruits would be available and frozen fruits work just as well in this recipe.

For a more nutritious drink - Sugar could possibly be removed from the recipe and the skimmed milk substituted with almond milk.
